Field Notes
The MNHC houses many of the field notes of Santa Cruz naturalist Randall Morgan , including detailed descriptions of plant phenology, plant community composition, weather and wildlife observations, etc.. of numerous sites in Santa Cruz County over multiple decades. These include additional notes associated with Morgan’s plant and insect collections, as well as both systematic and anecdotal observations beyond the scope of those collections. The museum is actively working with Morgan and others to develop, fund, and pursue plans to appropriately archive and database the data contained in the notes so that it can be accessed by researchers, analyzed, and published.
